Meetings at Baildon Community Link

The January to March 2018 meetings are open free to members of the public. Please feel free to come along. You would be very welcome!

9th January 2018 - Geoff Trinder
“Birds of the Wetlands”
Herons, Egrets, Ibises, ducks and birds of prey are just some of the species to be found in wetlands. Geoffs’ talk takes us to wetlands in Australia, America, Europe and beyond to discover the beauty and marvelous diversity of these special birds.

6th February 2018 - Steve Race
“Yorkshire Coast Nature”
The Yorkshire Coast is an incredible place to see a wide variety of wildlife across different habitats. From deep forests and woodlands to the beautiful purple moorland of the North York Moors National Park, along the rugged coastline and through the sweeping hills of the Yorkshire Wolds you will be amazed at what you can see. This talk tells the story behind the reasons for forming our company ‘Yorkshire Coast Nature” and the wildlife that can be found along the Yorkshire Coast.

6th March 2018 Linda Jenkinson
“Birds of the Lower Aire Valley”
Lindas’ talk will be about the birds and places of the Lower Aire Valley. She follows the River Aire from the Leeds outer ring road at Calverley/Rodley as far as Fairburn Ings highlighting some special places along the way to watch birds.
All Our Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at Baildon Community Link 35 Cliffe Avenue, Baildon BD17 6NX

Directions – From Shipley take A6038 Otley Road. Turn left to Baildon on B6151. Continue up the hill and once the road has levelled off, turn left at the zebra crossing situated at a crossroads junction into Cliffe Avenue. The Centre is on the right just after Baildon Cliffe Avenue Surgery.

We have been able to continue meeting on the first Tuesday of the month and have booked The Lounge from 7pm to 10pm. The Centre is modern and has kitchen facilities to use for drinks if required. The air condition system is extremely quiet and the room seats about 40 people.

Parking – The Centre has a small car park but road side parking is available on Cliffe Avenue but please avoid double parking. Better still, park on Green Road which is the road behind The Link as there is less traffic.
